Real Business – Powered by MPS

By Andrew Morrison, senior vice president, Xerox Managed Print Services Business Group

If your business is still looking for ways to cut every day costs and you haven’t looked at print – take a closer look.  And even if you have looked at print, but you haven’t rolled out a managed print services (MPS) strategy – take my advice and dig deeper . There are millions of dollars to be saved and efficiency to be gained in standardization – in print costs, energy, and employee time – when you better understand and improve how  both printed and digital documents are supporting the way your business runs.

For example,  local governments – like the cities of Jacksonville, Fla., Colorado Springs and Aurora, Colo. – are increasingly turning to MPS to help save money and time needed to power community programs.

Today we’re kicking off a new blog series called “Real Business – Powered by MPS” to highlight what happens when businesses sign on for MPS – they get results they never anticipated, and I’m not just talking about saving paper with two-sided printing.

For example:

  • Procter & Gamble is working to free up hundreds of minutes of employee time annually with a more efficient print environment. Not to mention, Xerox Mobile Print allows the P&G mobile workforce to print easily and securely while traveling to different P&G locations.
  • Kelly Services, a leading workforce solutions provider is reducing paper use, power consumption and landfill waste by more than 50 percent.
  • The Universal Orlando theme park worked with Xerox to study work processes and costs associated with printing and sharing scripts, proposals and promotional material – the result is a more productive and greener workplace behind the scenes of the innovative theme park experience provided to guests.
  • Los Angeles Trade-Technical College (LATTC) signed on for MPS to cut operational costs by $1.5 million, but the new print strategy also helps boost student recruitment with more efficient and environmentally sensitive technology, appealing to the growing number of prospective students seeking training for the “green workforce”— jobs tied to renewable energy and energy efficiency.

So whether you come from a Fortune 500 global organization like Cisco, a small community school such as Ohio-based Cuyahoga Community College, or you’re working for a municipality like the city of Rochester, check back here to read or share stories about how MPS can power more than just an  efficient print environment. I just wanted to take a few moments and inform you that I really liked the post. I honestly don’t think that most people know what amount of hard work that goes into developing a good blog website. I recognize this will be sort of random nevertheless it bugs me sometimes. Anyhow good post.
