Solid Ink Turns 21 and Celebrates!

Paul Criswell, product marketing manager, Xerox

It feels like a “coming of age” milestone but this year marks the 21st year of Solid Ink – an exclusive technology only found in Xerox products.  And what better way of celebrating than to launch a new set of Solid Ink products that are the new generation of office products from Xerox; the ColorQube 8700 and ColorQube 8900.

ColorQube 8700

Not to say all 21 year olds are mature. Take it from me, I’ve seen a number of 21 year old “adults” act their shoe size and not their age. But these multifunction printers are  grown-up solutions that help small businesses focus less on technology and more on attracting and delighting their customers. The level of security of each of these MFPs  has will allow anyone to trust them to live on their network.  You won’t need to remind them to” lock the door” because they’ve already thought about that and so much more.

Since the very beginning, Solid Ink has focused on reducing its impact on the environment – a very grown-up decision.  By not having an actual toner cartridge it saves  up to 90% less printing waste and that means less trucks on the road for a smaller carbon footprint.  I don’t know about you, but I appreciate having fewer of those 18-wheel trucks on the road – especially when I’m behind them on a dark, rainy night.

We’re pretty proud of our 21 year old and invite you to celebrate with us by visiting the new Solid Ink website and learn about this environmentally conscious and vibrant technology.  And starting today, SMBs can enter our “Rethink Your Ink with @XeroxOffice” Twitter sweepstakes for a chance to win a ColorQube 8700. Follow @XeroxOffice and use the hashtag #SMBSolidInk to learn more.

Lucky Xerox that we acquired solid ink technology when it was just a child. We knew it would grow up to make us proud. Congrats to our solid ink innovators.

Thanks Christa! It’s been great to watch our technology grow up from a color print to a fully mature multifunction printer that not only keeps color printing costs low but gives our customers more producitivity features like scanning, faxing and copying.

Having sold these solid ink printers for many years, Phaser through to ColorQube, we have found the unique print process has always been popular. Many of our customers wouldn’t consider any other type of printer!
