Powered by MPS: Keeping Pace with the Latest Trends

By Andrew Morrison, senior vice president, Managed Print Services Business, Xerox

When the much anticipated next generation iPhone 5 arrived, Apple reportedly sold more than five million phones over its debut weekend. Were you one of the lucky five million to cash in on the latest trend? Keeping pace with the latest and greatest is not only important to individuals, but to businesses as well. And leading brands like Apple recognize that they must be one step ahead of what consumers think they need.

We feel the same way – especially when it comes to managed print services (MPS).

The IDC Worldwide and U.S. Managed Print Services and Basic Print Services (BPS) 2012-2016 Forecast and Analysis reports that MPS and BPS is projected to grow from $26.2 billion in 2011 to $47.0 billion by 2016.[1] That means it’s more important than ever for Xerox to keep pace with this rapidly growing space.

To meet the growing demands of our customers and partners, we needed a faster way to capture and analyze data to continue to deliver innovative, customized MPS strategies businesses of all sizes. We recently selected Cisco’s Unified Computing System (UCS) to support our network of cloud-based MPS delivery centers around the world, and speed up the connection between data servers and the more than one million Xerox and non-Xerox print devices we manage. As a result, customers experience a faster, more reliable delivery of MPS applications and we stay ahead of their needs by using the data we collect to continually recommend new ways to simplify the way they work with both paper and digital documents.

While some are fortunate enough to get their hands on the latest gadgets, our customers cannot rely simply on luck to keep pace with their competitors. Xerox is committed to developing technology based on where our customers are headed and where we see the market progressing. And that’s not luck; that’s innovation.

Andrew leads the expansion and evolution of Xerox’s market-leading MPS portfolio.
