What does a Rock Singer, Cereal and Digital Printing Have in Common?

by, Patti Quinn, Xerox Public Relations

So, have you been following the story about Tim Burgess, the UK singer who jokingly tweeted at Kellogg’s about an imaginary cereal creation he wanted? Kellogg’s was paying attention and within the hour they were in touch with him and created a one-of-a-kind cereal – a mix of marshmallows, pieces of shortbread, raisins and Coco Krispies.

Kellogg’s also produced a personalized cereal box featuring a smiling cartoon likeness of Burgess.

The story has gotten a ton of pickup— Huffington Post, Rolling Stone and MSNBC have covered it. And, Rolling Stone loved the story so much that they created a hashtag (#RockCracklePop) and have a slideshow going of other music stars’ cereals might be.

Behind all this fun is a digital printing solution that made it all happen. And that’s the value of digital printing – it creates customized, personalized applications, like cereal boxes, fast – really fast.

Digital printing makes the imaginable reality. What’s next?

Patti, your blog just made my week! I sent a tweet from @XeroxCorp and mentioned @Tim_Burgess and he sent a Wow back our way. As a Gen X’er, I was already a fan of The Charlatan’s, but this takes it to a whole new level. A truly authentic and social interaction.
