Last month our CMO wrote a blog post titled: “Setting the Record Straight on Social Media in B2B”. In her blog post she mentioned the fact that “Xerox has over 50 Twitter handles, we use Facebook to reach our employees and retirees and our most successful social media platform is YouTube. Our blogs are where we choose to provide insight and drive deeper engagements and conversations.”
The one platform that was briefly mentioned was LinkedIn… And there was a good reason for it, until recently we had not had Corporate presence on LinkedIn. According to this Mashable article “LinkedIn is considered the non-sexy, sleeping giant of social networks. It keeps a low profile, perhaps due to the professional nature of its users. Nonetheless, LinkedIn continues to exert a powerful influence on connected job seekers, brands, recruiters and industries.”
As a B2B company we knew it was important for us to provide the millions of professionals on LinkedIn a way to engage with us so we expanded our Social Media footprint with the launch of the Xerox company page on LinkedIn. This channel is Xerox’s primary presence on LinkedIn and we will use it to reach and engage the large number of professionals already on the platform.
There are three main sections of the page. The Overview section will feature Xerox blog posts, clips of Xerox in the news, as well as daily Xerox updates including videos, product launches, news releases, and more to keep all followers informed of news and events happening at Xerox. The Careers section has listings of open positions and job opportunities within Xerox. The Products and Services section features a selected range of our offerings from our technology and services lines of business including: Healthcare Solutions, Desktop Printers, Managed Print Services, Mobile Business Solutions, Transportation Solutions, and more.

As a new Xerox employee who found his job via LinkedIn, I am very excited we have launched an official company page on the platform. I believe LinkedIn is the premier social media platform for B-2-B activity. It will help evolve our brand awareness as a leader in BPO and ITO services, recruit top talent for all groups & sectors, and of course, engage with our current clients, find new prospective new clients and show ourselves as the thought leaders that we are.
Xerox – Bravo for creating this page. I find LinkedIn a great resource and applaud Xerox doing it “right” by making such a robust page available. Let the networking begin and/or continue!

Thank you for your comment Matt. I too believe LinkedIn provides a fantastic platform for us to connect with our target B2B audience. We hope this new Xerox LinkedIn page can become the hub for information and engagement for the B2B audience with Xerox. (I am a Xerox employee)
Laurie, thank you for your comment and kind words. I do think we are doing it “right” on LinkedIn as well as other social media channels, but as Xerox’ Social Media Manager I may be biased 😉
