A bad cold or sore throat may not convince you to schedule a visit to your doctor’s office. You may not have the time to spare or maybe the cost of the visit is too high. But if you see a doctor right away, then there’s a good chance that you will focus on your recovery a lot sooner.
That’s the idea behind Xerox’s investment in HealthSpot, a telehealth pioneer. HealthSpot’s solution is a private 40-square-foot kiosk that allows patients to interact virtually with a board-certified doctor who can diagnose and provide care for many common ailments. In addition, each HealthSpot location is staffed by a medical assistant who can provide in-person assistance as needed. You could be diagnosed and begin your treatment plan in as little as 15 minutes. It’s one way to solve the problem of spending too much time and money on a visit to the doctor’s office.
These kiosks will be available at select Rite Aid locations throughout Ohio in the greater Akron/Canton/Cleveland and Dayton/Springfield markets. More kiosks will be set up at other Rite Aid locations throughout the U.S. over the next few years.
