Time flies.  It was only one year ago today that businesses were introduced to a workplace revolution when Xerox launched  29 ConnectKey®-enabled printers and multifunction devices with simple and secure on-the-go capabilities, cloud connectivity, and access to productivity boosting apps.

These workplace assistants (Xerox AltaLink and VersaLink) are helping customers move their digital transformation forward and channel partners discover new revenue streams. Redefining how work gets done has also captured the attention of industry influencers.  In the past year, analysts and the press have written much about these products. This is not your average Throwback Thursday article; if this were a report card, your parents would post it on the refrigerator – or on Facebook. Here’s an overview of news from the past year: This list is not comprehensive, but it gives you an idea of the success these product families have enjoyed.

Xerox swept CRN’s 2017 Annual Report Card (ARC) in the Workgroup Color Printers category. “Thousands of solution providers cast their votes for the ARC awards,” reported CRN, which provides objective news analysis and daily reporting of events and trends that impact the IT channel. “[the resulting awards recognize] vendors in the categories of partnership, support and product innovation.”

AltaLink C8055 color MFP is CRN’s overall winner in the printers category. The top criterion: Products thatCRN 2017 Products of the Year solve problems for customers. CRN editors selected five product finalists among the technology categories for the IT channel, then asked solution providers to determine the winners. The provider’s ratings took revenue and profit opportunities, and customer demand, into consideration. The award quoted “[The AltaLink C8055] been very popular with our customers,” said Josh Justice, president of La Plata, Md.-based Just-Tech. “[It] has a large tablet interface that makes it easy to do copy, print, fax, and scan functions. Customers also really like the mobile print enablement. [Overall,] it’s a big step up in technology.”

Better Buys bestowed its Editor’s Choice Award on the AltaLink B7000 and C8000 multifunction printers. The review noted the B7000’s “versatile paper-handling features, installation guide for setting up device with no IT involvement, cloud-based printing and scanning.” For the C8000, the review praised our ConnectKey technology, and pointed to the color printer’s “mobile and cloud printing/scanning, versatile paper trays and finishing options, partnership with McAfee for added security.”

Xerox AltaLink Devices First to Common Criteria Certification for Security by NIAP

The National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) has certified our AltaLink devices. NIAP is the U.S. government organization that ensures compliance with the global Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation, and the AltaLink multifunction printers are the first to meet these rigorous, new testing standards. This new protection profile is based on the security requirements specified by United States and Japanese government agencies.

Keypoint Intelligence – Buyers Lab named four Xerox printers to its Summer Pick Awards, three of came from the VersaLink family. “This group of Pick-winning Xerox products was clearly designed with productivity in mind,” said Marlene Orr, director of Printer and MFP Analysis for Keypoint Intelligence – Buyers Lab.

Keypoint Intelligence – Buyers Lab named 13 Xerox AltaLink and VersaLink devices as “Winter 2018 Picks.” Awarded twice annually, Picks acknowledge the products that gave the best performances in BLI’s extensive suite of lab tests in the previous six months.
